Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and journalist (1914-1993) considered one of the earliest practitioners of 'New Journalism.' Autograph letter signed ("John Hersey"), to Mr. Searle, n.p., n.d. 1 page, 12mo, written in the top margin of a larger sheet trimmed down. "I am breaking an iron rule of my life--that I shall never answer letters addressed to me as John Hershey. I have often wished I were a chocolate manufacturer, but I'm not." --
