John C. Fremont (1813-1890), This stock deals with the "Texas Division-from Jefferson to El Paso." Also the Memphis, El Paso and Pacific Railroad acknowledge being indebted to John C. Fremont for $1,000, 1868. It financed a section of 20 miles of track. Great significance as part of the building of the Trans-Continental Railroad. John C. Fremont boldly signs at back.
