William Harridge Typed Letter Signed - Former baseball commissioner and Baseball HOF'er. Typed letter signed, one page, May 22, 1942, on American League Professional Baseball Clubs stationary. Harridge writes to Jack Zeller, General Manager of the Detroit Baseball Club, that he has approved and returned the contract dated the 20th signed by Harold Newhouser in Lieu of the one previously signed by him prior to the opening of the season. Another letter written also to Zeller written on May 23, 1942 is about a contract signed by Charles L. Gehringer and that he has been removed form the list of coaches to the active player list. The last letter written on December 19th 1941, to Walter G. Briggs (Of Briggs Stadium) is thanking him for the beautiful box of playing cards and wishing him a very happy Holiday Season. Also included is a tops card depicting Harridge as president of the American League and Warren Giles president of the National league, in fair condition.
