Academy Award-winning British photographer and costume and production designer (1904-1980).. The 2 letters and one Christmas card are written and signed by Beaton to his friend Aileen Mehl. In one letter he thanks her for saying” That is the nicest thing any ever wrote about me” another letter hs talks about stamps and other personal information. The Christmas card he sent shows a printed picture of a woman and Merry Christmas and then he inscribes on the other side of the card to Suzy. Aileen Mehle (June 10, 1918 – November 11, 2016), known by the pen name Suzy or Suzy Knickerbocker, was an American society columnist, active in journalism for over fifty years. Her column was syndicated to 100 newspapers and read by over 30 million people.
