Albert Einstein hopes to warn non-Jews of "The True Nature of Hitler's Regime." A superb and prophetic typed letter from Albert Einstein commenting on the vile German propaganda organ "Der Sturmer" and hoping his collection of the newspaper could be used to educate non-Jewish Americans about Hitler and the Nazi mentality. In this one-page, Mar.1,1935 letter from Princeton, the great physicist shares his thoughts with Jesse M. Mendheim in New York, with whom he often corresponded. He writes in German, in part:"Thank you very much for sending a copy of "Sturmer "... It may be of interest to you to know I received a large number of issues of this disgraceful monument to German barbarism directly from the editorial office of "Strumer". I could let you review this collection, if you should you need this kind of material. It would be very beneficial if my collection could be used to infomrm the local non-Jewish circles about the true nature of Hitler's regime. In my opinion, there is not enough happening here in the direction." Accompanied by the original envelope. "Der Sturmer" was a weekly German tabloid-format newspaper published in Nuremberg from 1923 until the end of World War II under the supervision of rabid anti Semite Julius Streicher. The paper, carrying the motto: "The Jew is our misfortune " was a significant part of Nazi propaganda. Streicher would be tried and hanged for his deeds in 1946.With One Of A Kind Collectibles COA.
