Abraham Lincoln Large Albumen Portrait, Originally Taken by Alexander Hesler, Printed From the Original Negative by George B. Ayers, Circa 1881. Approximately 6.75" x 8.75" marked by hand in ink on the verso "Copyright / Geo. B. Ayers / Phila". This is one of four images taken of Lincoln by Hesler in Springfield, Illinois on June 3, 1860. Lincoln himself mentions that Hesler's images "gives a very fair representation of my homely face." Some loss and damage to the right corner of the mount and part of photo, otherwise a crisp,nice image in good condition. O-26.
